In shells

Yesterday I was kind of dreading work, I had to wake up early and work a short 5 hours shift.

So I was sitting at the bus stop, and looked at the rising set. It’s still dark, with tiny patches of sky with gradients of orange to blue. Besides the sky, everything else like buildings and roads had this tint of blue over it. It was really interesting, it was like a water colour painting with blue paint spilled over it.

Maybe I am being melodramatic, but it became quite worth it to wake up early in the morning to see this. I always wake up for opening shift (before the sun rises) or 9am (the sun almost risen) and never caught this pretty blue atmospheric nature scene. Yes, that was a good phrase.

But it wasn’t very fun when I board the bus and realised there were two ants stuck in each side of my sandals and biting me and I can’t scratch cos I was standing on a crowded bus.

I woke up a little too late to bake cookies. Yes, I suddenly want to bake cookies and I had never tried it before.

I added 6 luminous fish to my tank of one goldfish and one red fish. It seem like a lovely, lovely afternoon but it’s going to rain. I hate rain.

And this is the face of a terrapin forcefully taken out of its tank.

Turtles and tortoise and terrapin

I am feeling all sleepy because I just had my lunch at 5pm. When I am at home, I would have a coffee after lunch but well, it’s kind of late to have a coffee now, my mother would scream at me for making myself full before dinner.

Anyway, today is a day about turtles, tortoise and terrapin.

I was having my morning afternoon TV time when I decided to do something quite funny during the commerical. I was sitting on my sofa which is in front of the TV. And next to the TV I have a tank with two terrapins (tortoise) inside. They always rest on the rocks and when when they sense some danger (like me walking towards them), they would dive into the waters. So basically, I never got to see them (unless I catch them) up close while they are resting.

SO, I decided to do a little test. I would roll down to the floor from the sofa, and roll on the floor towards them and see whether they will jump.

And I did it! I manage to see my two terrapins resting on the rocks up close without them jumping into the water. Yes the important words are up close. And they aren’t as intelligent as I thought. It’s quite entertaining really, When there’s nobody to entertain you..you got to make yourself happy.

Since we are on the topic on animals with shells, I have been needing to know how to spell ‘terrapin’ which I obviously found out and very, very importantly: are my terrapins called turtle or tortoise? Well I did my search and the answer is here.

So techincally I am not wrong to call them turtles but a more correct term would be tortoise.

I replaced the coffee with this reptile-searching exercise.

And this is so funny! I wish I can do that with a friend. I love ‘The Plug’, they do the funniest things. And I added a couple of very entertaining links and the sidebar.
