The universe

I have two thoughts today. I will blog about one of them.

I was wondering to myself why did God create space? Why can’t God just create like the earth and blah, it ended right there at the clouds and the blue skies?

Then I think I got it.

If it did end at the clouds, it’s kind of sad, like hitting a cardboard, something like ‘The Truman Show’ ending. Then if you go beyond our skies there’s space so it gets exciting..and so on. So we just kind of keep exploring till we reach the end. However, there’s no end in space..end is thousands and millions and trillions of light years away, somewhere even beyond..somewhere we can never ever reach. I learn about this through the book I am reading by Bill Bryson called ‘A Short History of Nearly Everything’. It’s just a great book by the way though I am taking ages with it.

SO, back to my point of space and beyond and why there isn’t an end? I think God kind of wants it this way. Knowing that humans can never be satisfied and will just keep at it, He made the skies, universe, space…infinite and endless. So basically it’s like ‘Nice try humans, you will never get to the end’. No, I don’t think God is cruel to entertain us or Himself this way…it’s just, what is beyond this world is so amazing that it is just a gentle reminder than there’s creator out there, whoever you may believe. It just can’t happen by some rocks colliding together.

Friday tomorrow!! Please don’t let me OT.

Teacher ballon

Today I woke up with my parents at home, surprisingly. My mother is on her school holidays (teacher) and my father is on MC. I was inspired to do a million and one things today.

And this is my mother happy with the “You are a terrific teacher!” balloon she received from one her students.

Today was quite fun despite the fact the day started off with my parents annoying me but they were also the ones that made my day.

I baked cookies

I baked chocolate chip cookies today. They taste quite OK but they don’t look very good. The top piece there is the best looking.

I was at my desk when there was this terrible fishy, stale smell. I thought you know..just a passing by (?) smell from outside the window. Then it was still here after a while..so I thought could it be that one of my fishes jump into the light bulb or something so I counted my fishes. And they were fine.

I thought it was from my hands from the baking today but I don’t think butter is a seafood by any chance.

THEN I found it. It was from one of my cloth holders where I keep my junk. Apparently my packet of cat food (which well was given to me since year 1 of Poly, my friend got it for me) burst and had a tiny hole and leaked some yummy food juice. It stinks like so badly!

I can still smell it in my head.

In shells

Yesterday I was kind of dreading work, I had to wake up early and work a short 5 hours shift.

So I was sitting at the bus stop, and looked at the rising set. It’s still dark, with tiny patches of sky with gradients of orange to blue. Besides the sky, everything else like buildings and roads had this tint of blue over it. It was really interesting, it was like a water colour painting with blue paint spilled over it.

Maybe I am being melodramatic, but it became quite worth it to wake up early in the morning to see this. I always wake up for opening shift (before the sun rises) or 9am (the sun almost risen) and never caught this pretty blue atmospheric nature scene. Yes, that was a good phrase.

But it wasn’t very fun when I board the bus and realised there were two ants stuck in each side of my sandals and biting me and I can’t scratch cos I was standing on a crowded bus.

I woke up a little too late to bake cookies. Yes, I suddenly want to bake cookies and I had never tried it before.

I added 6 luminous fish to my tank of one goldfish and one red fish. It seem like a lovely, lovely afternoon but it’s going to rain. I hate rain.

And this is the face of a terrapin forcefully taken out of its tank.

Turtles and tortoise and terrapin

I am feeling all sleepy because I just had my lunch at 5pm. When I am at home, I would have a coffee after lunch but well, it’s kind of late to have a coffee now, my mother would scream at me for making myself full before dinner.

Anyway, today is a day about turtles, tortoise and terrapin.

I was having my morning afternoon TV time when I decided to do something quite funny during the commerical. I was sitting on my sofa which is in front of the TV. And next to the TV I have a tank with two terrapins (tortoise) inside. They always rest on the rocks and when when they sense some danger (like me walking towards them), they would dive into the waters. So basically, I never got to see them (unless I catch them) up close while they are resting.

SO, I decided to do a little test. I would roll down to the floor from the sofa, and roll on the floor towards them and see whether they will jump.

And I did it! I manage to see my two terrapins resting on the rocks up close without them jumping into the water. Yes the important words are up close. And they aren’t as intelligent as I thought. It’s quite entertaining really, When there’s nobody to entertain you..you got to make yourself happy.

Since we are on the topic on animals with shells, I have been needing to know how to spell ‘terrapin’ which I obviously found out and very, very importantly: are my terrapins called turtle or tortoise? Well I did my search and the answer is here.

So techincally I am not wrong to call them turtles but a more correct term would be tortoise.

I replaced the coffee with this reptile-searching exercise.

And this is so funny! I wish I can do that with a friend. I love ‘The Plug’, they do the funniest things. And I added a couple of very entertaining links and the sidebar.

World of blogs

Sally · Sunday, August 17th, 2008, 3:23 am · Comments (1)

Ever since blogging become very popular years back and also thanks to the wonders of Wordpress, there are tons of blogs these days. There’s all sorts from personal blogs to entertainment and amusements to lifestyle.

I love reading them, there are so many out there that are so, so entertaining. Sometimes I want to read everything that it becomes quite overwhelming..I don’t know..I get so crazy over reading everything like I want to be the most intelligent person around.

I love blogging, I love designing the blog, the coding and I love how a perfect blog looks on a browser. I blog since I was 14 and it’s really quite amazing when I look back at those early entries and realised how much I grow. Although internet can’t really be trusted, like servers crashes, hackers so entries gone and stuff.

Anyway (and of nothing connecting the previous blogging topic), I want to be a early riser. I love mornings, I KNOW deeeep in my heart I am a morning lover so I have been reading (ok, just started today) about waking up early and body clock etc.

And I started a word blog! Like I post a meaning of a word everyday, I think it would be fun. I will see whether I blog better by the end of the year.

Shit, it’s 3.22am, awesome start to that early riser plan.

Revelation

A revelation came over me today.

Seriously and really. It was a dreary realisation but it was much needed and it was surprisingly..good.

I packed my room today, everything is dustless and in place. And I finally put up the rest of the frames on my wall…to decorate my walls yes.

Athlete’s ‘Wires’ is excellent for 2ams.

Itch of an itch

Sally · Wednesday, August 6th, 2008, 5:58 pm · Comments (0)

There are days I sit on my white plastic chair and go,

“Today was well spent”
Or “I could have done better”

Today was one of the “could have done better” days. I start to think about these things when it’s nearing the end of the day and you can see the sun getting orange-er.

I just seem to be in a complete daze today.

*

Yesterday I had the weirdest sleeping problem. I had an itch inside an itch. I am serious. And I am 100% sure I wasn’t dreaming because..well just read on..

I woke up in the middle of the night at 2am and felt this itch all over my body so you know as a human who respond you scratch but I realised I was not itchy. Everyone knows how itchiness feel.

With my limited vocab I will try to explain that feeling. It was a intense discomfort like…millions bits of cotton wool (not ants cos it wasn’t itchy!) stuck on and crawling its way around my body. YES, perfect explanation.

And I don’t know what to do, I scratch, wrap myself with the blanket, roll around the bed to get rid of it. Then it came to a point that I thought maybe it’s a dream so I force myself to open my eye wide open and slap my own face. I still wasn’t convince so I got up, turn on the light and sat on this white chair, half asleep.

Then I try to go back to sleep, I could not. It was so uncomfortable I was..what’s that word..the kind of sound a little kid makes when throwing temper. I slept on the floor, still the same. It was a long struggle of 20 minutes with this unknown substance. It felt like my nerves went haywire.

Maybe it was the cough syrup’s side extreme effects.

There was only one phrase to describe it, a terrible itch of an itch.

I swear it was the weirdest feeling.
