Chuck & Larry

Official site: here
I rate: 5/5!

I watched Chuck and Larry the other day with Audrey. It was awesome! It’s the funniest movie I ever seen seriously. I truly enjoyed everything. It’s really damn funny, go see it! It’s really funny without being too stupid with no storyline you know..

Well today was an unfortunate day. There was suppose to be a flea market at Haji Lane, I read on Juice Mag. Jon and I met up and went there. And woohoooo, no nothing, absolutely nothing. It is either I got the date wrong or it was cancelled or something. Well we felt really dumb.

We ate, walked around Bugis Street, Bugis Junction, asked Boo to join us and ended with shopping at Central mall. I was doing all the shopping..with the two boys. Haha..no good finds, just bought a planner for next year from Muji! The planner starts 1st Oct 2007 so yay, I can use it! Well I lost my old one..which I don’t really mind cos, I absolutely love anything new..

Boo send me home! All the way to my lift! :) Thanks Boo! And thanks to him and Jon, the Avril Lavigne’s “Keep Holding On” song is stuck in my head.

And remember that funny cricket cross grasshopper insect? Here it is, ok, I think it is a cricket.

Cricket

And at Central Mall, guess what I found? Ok I don’t think anyone except my sister will know this. It’s one of my favourite anime movies of all times: “Grave of the Fireflies”. It’s a Japan anime with one of the main charactor featured on the candy tin. It’s hard to found any products featuring those cartoons from the 80s. The candy tin was the most treasured and actually the only belonging this little girl has. This is the saddest cartoon I ever seen really. It’s about a war-torn Japan during the World War II period.

Candy

Work tomorrow.
FYP — :(

Ok I have a confession to make, the new lead singer from The Click Five is super hot. Pretty boy..as good as Zac Efron already. The bassist is cute too. I don’t like Click Five but you gonna admit they make catchy tunes.

After Mid-autumn Festival

Sally · Friday, September 28th, 2007, 2:12 am · Comments (0)

There is a bug in front of me. A big one..I got no idea what it is, it looks like a mix of grasshopper and cricket. Now it is inside a transparent plastic container. I can’t kill living things..it’s cruel squash anything moving to death..well it is not I dare to anyway. I just cup it.

The skies have been extremely bright at night. Like 2, 3am, the sky was bluish..as if it is 5.30am when the sun is about to rise. Then 10 minutes later it will turn purplish..back to an orignal 2am night sky. I think it’s the full moon.

Anyway, Tuesday was Mid-autumn Festival. It is actually my favourite festival along with Christmas. I don’t know..I like mooncakes and burning things and playing with lanterns. My sister and I used to play candles and lantern downstairs our house every year. And not forgetting those random neighbourhood kids joining you as well..or they burn your stuff or something.

Then it came a time when my sister stop playing with me cos she was “all grown-up” (haha!). The last time I remember playing a lantern (with friends/people) when I was in Sec 2..which my then clique..Raelene, Melissa C, Sarah, Sukyi..then I remember there was a year I carried a lantern around my own house cos no one wants to play with me.

Well, this year I decided to celebrate my favourite festival. I called the Hougang gang people over to my house to play candles and lantern. Audrey Yap, Sam, JJ came..and my sister joined usĀ  for a while (so see, the “all grown-up”). It was fun..I don’t know..everyone loves burning things. We played the stupidest games and Sam burned all our lanterns. We had mooncake after that..I had a great night.

I have been working. That’s all I have been doing recently. And my energy level is running low. I can’t work too much..I get tired and grumpy.

Today after work, I played pool..actually I learned to play pool. I was terrible..from terrible, I became……..really really suck. Want to win a game? Play with me!

No tanning for an annoyed girl.
Sam says: “…a sign of maturity is accepting if you screwed up or made a stupid decision.”

So nothing much had happened since I last work.

See..on Friday, it was Mattyhew’s birthday at Zouk. It was fun..a few scandalous beings. Haha. I went home early though, just felt like being home.

I went to work just now, read the papers.

Article 1
There was an article..a woman gave birth to her daughter at a Sembawang carpark driveway. It probably isn’t very uncommon or surprising somewhere else in the word but it is in Singapore..since well, Singapore can’t even actually make up a dot on the world map. Well she is dumb enough not to go to the hospital a few days in advance. I mean imagine next time your kid ask you: “Mummy, which hospital was I born in?” “Oh none, I couldn’t wait, I gave birth to you in the driveway and you were on the papers!”

Article 2
This very courteous bus driver was featured in the papers. He would greet all his passengers, get down to bus to help etc. And I remember him! He drives bus 17..I used to take that bus everyday to school. I remember once when everyone was getting down the bus at the bus interchange, he got up and bowed and said goodbye to everyone one by one. It was quite funny but very impressive!

Alright that’s all. Tanning tomorrow.

YES, it’s finally over. It was over on Monday, all the submissions were over on Monday. I have been resting and packing my room, too tired to update.Monday was terrible man..dateline was at 12noon. I handed up at 5pm instead. It was so bad..I almost gave up cos I was so tired and annoyed with myself for being so slow. Till it came a point, “fuck it..at least I hand up, I tried my best”.

And Pat is going to cut 5% of my marks for being late but damn it..it’s over. 3 weeks of forcing myself to stay at home..mental battles is quite enough for me.

I was damn tired but still went to Ikea to get stuff to decor my room. I had quite a bit of trouble carrying a probably 4kg lamp stand and 4 flattened boxes longer than me home and not forgetting the photo frames in my bag. And I was determined to take a bus after pouring money into printing my Publication and buying photo papers for Advanced photo.

Anyway, went to work on Tuesday. It felt awesome going to work and not having any school work on my mind. I was extra jumpy and happy (good news yz!)

And yesterday, I spent 8 and a half hour packing my room. See there’s different levels of packing in my dictionary:

1. 5, 10 Snappy pack
You take like 5 or 10 minutes to clear your room, like put the clothes back in the cupboard, fix the teddy bear’s clothes or put my Smurf toy back into its 94 degree position…etc.

2. The very intensive pack
Basically it is like spring cleaning for most people, wipe everything, put everything back neatly, maybe reshift your furnitures..throw away unwanted stuff, pack your drawers (ok boxes in my case got there’s no drawers in my room). And put back everything back to the way it was.

3. The clean your hair as well pack
Which is what I did yesterday. Pour out every single container’s stuff and rearrange them. Shift every thing to a new position. Even empty out the junk compartments.

Yesterday I took out every single thing. Some of the boxes were left the way they were since I moved here 3 years ago..with my secondary things. I found many stupid things..like kiddy letter papers we use to write to each other during sec 1 or 2, planners..I found this letter I wrote to a friend. I was annoying. I mean I found myself annoying..

I have 3 objects obsession. Notebooks, small items and boxes.

There are tons of boxes in my room. And some of you all know, I keep boxes inside boxes. I like everything in boxes. I have many many boxes so each category of items can be in their own boxe..like medication, little toys, electronic stuff, stickers, makeup..And you you know there are always things that just doesn’t fit into any category no matter how hard you try. SO, I created a box called “Box of absolutely random things”.

The Random Box
(ok there’s a spelling error)

So yea, there is a toy whale (which inside the mouth of the whale has a baby whale..my fav toy since young maybe it’s where the obsession started), there are metal wires, a mini dustbin, zip-lock bags, water bottles..toys.

You know I think I should just live in a box one day. You know like those cargo containers homes the people in London invented? Yeahh. Or maybe I would be happy living as a hamster..living in those plastic box cage.

And very nice candle decor thing. The box is from a coffee bean container..I left it burning when I went to sleep. I think my parents came and blew it out. Haha..cos the thing was opened.

Die-cut box

So today I stayed at home. I surprised myself too..I actually wanted to stay at home. Cos I am someone that hates staying at home. Maybe the 3 weeks of staying at home made me love my house more. I watched many CSI, Claymore..and I will watch more TV and play Sims later :)

It’s a nice evening. Would you be my friend?

English Breakfast

Sally · Monday, September 17th, 2007, 1:12 am · Comments (1)

I see myself blogging a few times tonight to keep myself awake.

I just not home not long ago from work..got a ride from Zester. Bad news..I am damn tired now, I still have so much to do.

I have been through this..in fact almost every month I need to go through this: the torturous last few hours (about 12 hours actually) before submission. Rushing through final layouts, living and drowning in Red Bulls, the constant battle in your head to just shut your eyes for 15 minutes (which will definitely turns out to be 5 hours) and rest or continue the work, the crazy chatting with yourself to keep awake…

It’s definitely much easier with the Red Bull, you don’t actually feel sleepy during the night..just till when sunrise, you feel it. The headache. But bad bad news..I forgotten about my Red Bull!!! Shit..I am going to make do with English Breakfast which will not be helping much.

We go through this every month for design subjects..but this few last few days of the blocks, well is tougher or harder to live by cos I have been putting much more effort into my work.

I will be missing these nights when I graduate. But for now, I want these 12hours to be over asap!

It’s raining for sleep

Sally · Sunday, September 16th, 2007, 6:57 am · Comments (0)

It’s 6.49am and it’s pouring outside. I should be sleeping. SLEEPING in this perfect weather for..sleeping. BUT NO, I need to get up and do work.

So I woke up at9.35am (haha I did manage to) to head to school to the darkroom to do my prints. I was of cos damn grumpy and sleepy for the whole morning all the way till I had lunch in the afternoon. The lunch time is actually my wakeup time for 3 weeks. I did manage to do my prints by 9.30pm…had time to pack up and head home. Time really flies when you are in the darkroom..no you have to be working for it to fly, if you just sit in the darkest of dark room, it will pass slow cos it’s scary.

Ok I am not really thinking right, I am damn sleepy.

I never realised how tired I was till I came home and straight away fell asleep on the bed and just woke up. I had to wake up to dry my prints. I actually slept at 11.30pm! This is what staying at home too much does to you..an overload of the outside world makes you tired.

Long day tomorrow:

  1. Do publication.
  2. Go to art friend.
  3. Go to work.
  4. Back home to finish publication.

Ok I should do my publication or I should sleep or I should eat. Why can’t we do all three at the same time?

So cute

Oooooh, this is the cutest thing ever! Click here to read the story.

And once again, I should be doing my work instead of looking at monkeys and doves.
